After meeting his wife Pip, the pair raise two girls and build a small electronics business.
However, Dick Smith Electronics takes off beyond their wildest dreams and soon the energetic millionaire is able to ‘retire’ and pursue other passions.
For example, founding Australian Geographic and Dick Smith Foods.

Firstly it was interesting to hear how Smith started his business on a shoestring in his early 20s and grew it quickly into a booming national brand.
Also his desire for ground-breaking adventure, which led to flights via helicopter, light plane and balloon all over the world.
Certainly the hairiest was his record-making solo helicopter circumnavigation.
Finally, it was fascinating to learn how generous Smith is and how he has given millions to charities over the decades.
